The girl stared at the screen in consternation.

She had been trying her hardest to type out a diary post of interest, but her brain was elluding her attempts at lucidicy. She sighed in irritation. She had never been one to write diaries of any kind. Attempts always ended in naught and her only successful attempt at keeping a diary for any considerable length was 8 years ago during her fourth primary year. And that had been only due to boredom and a less sosphisticated state of mind. The girl shivered at the thought of those uninspired and boring entries.

No, her talents in writing went an entirely different way - the writing of fiction. She was a seasoned writer in winglin.net and had scored high marks for the comprehension component throughout her secondary school years (not that, as she had realized later, that was much of a boast). If only there was a way to make writing a diary as easy as spawning chapter after chapter for her readers after a cuppa.

A thought struck her. Why shouldn't it be as easy as that? Why not write her diary as she would write a story? It wasn't that hard, and she had already done something similar by writing her personal particulars in her sister's autograph book. With a spark of an idea in her head, she began to write most eagerly.

It was 2 days after the dreaded economics A-level paper. The girl had heaved a sigh in relief and her body lightened at the thought of just one more paper left before liberty. Although, she thought with a wry smile, it wasn't as if she hadn't enjoyed "captivity". Marathon studying had never been on any agenda of hers and it never would. Her studying was lightweight and had consisted of consistent homework doing, flipping reminders of term definitions and the doing of essays every now and then.

Still, the thought of doing all those things as planned made her giddy with excitement. Although, she thought sourly, it would be better if it came earlier. Her last paper was still a week away, and it was one she did not know exactly how to study for - Literature Paper 5. Her thought was: why can't I just get over and done with it? Indeed, she would rather if she could have ended this very day with her other friends rather than have the "benefit" of time (which she would not have used to study anyway).

Ah, wells. It was not that she could decide such things anyway. Besides, she thought as the dry wryness entered her mind again, she was already taking some time off even before her As had ended. Yesterady, she had already started cleaning up her room in preparation of redecoration and had enjoyed playing on the computer with immense satisfaction after staying away from it so long. And today, she was going out to watch Kenneth perform non-rock songs at a rock concert - THAT should prove pleasant and interesting. Yes, she could easily endure her week of "captivity" without much complaint...

The girl paused in her typing with truimph glowing on her face. That, had been so much easier than curning out any diary post at any day. And her post was much longer than it could have if writen in first person.
She would continue with this. If not for others than at least for herself. This gave her a lot more satisfaction that ordinary diary-writing. With a chuckle, she published her post, and grinned dumbly at her screen.
'This is going to be so much fun.'
